This year marks FOCL's 17th as sponsors of the Rosamond Gifford Library Lecture Series. What started out as just a great idea of a few book lovers has now become a series of national renown and a source of pride for Central New York.  The Rosamond Gifford Lecture Series is now the greatest and largest library-related lecture series in the country. In 17 seasons the Friends of the Central Library have brought over 100 world-famous authors to the Central New York area. Join us this October as we kick off the new season which we believe will be one of the biggest and best yet.

Authors who participate in our lecture series share stories of their works, personal lives, and life experiences. A question and answer session at the conclusion of each lecture allows the chance for audience participation.

All of our world-class lectures are held at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center located at 411 Montgomery Street in Syracuse, NY. The Civic Center's plush accommodations seat an audience of 2100. Attendees can purchase books by our visiting authors from Creekside Books and Coffee, in the lobby area just outside of the theater.

All lectures begin promptly at 7:30 pm.
